What is a life coach?

We often use external stimuli such as social media, TV watching and poker games to stun our stress and anxiety, instead of getting to the root of it.

Many do not allow themselves to feel proud and satisfied with what they have achieved but instead focus on some future, often not entirely clear, idea of ​​where one should be in life in order to be happy. An example might be that you promise to be less stressed and more present for your children as soon as you make more money.

Many people blame their problems on external circumstances and put their well-being in the hands of the outside world, but if you want to change your reality, you must first change your personality and take hold of your own happiness. External circumstances are not always something you can change, but you can change your own inner circumstances. Through this you can change how you think, feel, choose, speak and act. It also allows you to experience the happiness, motivation, security, commitment, freedom and other emotions that you want to evoke.

The wheel of life

The life wheel is a tool that can be used to get a visual picture of what needs to change in your life. The wheel consists of a circle divided into "pieces of cake" that represent different parts of your life. You can choose what parts of your life you want in your life cycle. Some common options are: family and friends, health, career, finances, leisure and personal development. You rate how satisfied you are with your situation in each area on a scale between 0 and 10. The center of the wheel is 0, which means that you are completely dissatisfied with your situation today and 10 represents that you are completely satisfied. For each piece of cake, you should ask yourself how happy you are with that part of your life right now and, if you are not completely happy, what would make you 10.

Once you have filled in all the parts, you can make an action plan based on which parts you need to change and what your ultimate goal is. The idea is that you should try to get as balanced a wheel of life as possible. This may mean that you have to lower the demands on yourself or re-prioritize, for example. You can also try to do something that helps several parts at once. For example, if you want to train more and also spend more time with friends, you can see if any of your friends are interested in training together, or why not meet new friends through the training. If you have a hobby that can be counted as exercise, such as dancing or rock climbing, you can also improve your leisure part. So with a single action, you can affect several parts of your life cycle.
