ICF Certifications

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) is a well-known, respected organization that is responsible for certifications for training in coaching and supervision. The certifications for different educations are a seal of quality for the three different levels that currently exist in the coach education industry.

The three different certifications are:

ICF Associate Certified Coach (ICF ACC)

ICF Professional Certified Coach (ICF PCC)

ICF Master Certified Coach (ICF MCC)

In order for an education to receive a certification, different levels of experience are required. To become an ICF ACC, a form of basic course applies, ICF PCC is an advanced course that requires 125 hours of documented coach training hours and 500 hours of verified client hours, most of which must be paid. These must also be distributed to at least 25 different clients. Finally, 10 hours of training of specific coaching skills with a qualified coach must also have been completed. To reach the next level and become an ICF MCC, 200 training hours, 2500 hours of practice of coaching and other different criteria must be met.

The road to the highest level, ICF MCC is long, requires long experience, knowledge and training and the certification for this is a clear proof of this.
